DENVER (KDVR) — A Guinness World Record was broken Tuesday evening in Commerce City.
UCHealth and Colorado Rapids have achieved the longest string of sports scarves at DICK’s Sporting Goods Park. The new record was measured at 5,280.78 feet, while the previous record was held by the Columbus Crew, a fellow Major League Soccer team, at 432.2 feet.
“I am thrilled to be a part of breaking this Guinness World Record,” Colorado Rapids President Padraig Smith said in a press release.
UCHealth and Rapids teamed up to break the record as part of their Colorado initiative, “Ready.Set.CO.” The initiative challenges Coloradans to achieve healthier lifestyles and maintain Colorado as one of the healthiest states in the country.

The series of sports scarves featured Rapids and UCHealth branding, along with the Colorado flag, as the series’ final design.
