Car arson suspect now in custody, says San Pablo PD

(Kron) – San Pablo police arrested a man suspected of burning a car last month.

Police announced on Thursday that Brett Allen Pesnit, 43, from Urika, is facing deliberate charges of the September 18 accident.

Bisnett was held on September 30 in Alamida Province for linking a separate case.

Sppd said that the officers responded at 4:17 am for a compound fire reports in the 13900 block from San Pablo Street.

“Upon their arrival, the officers identified a parked car inside a garage, completely mired in fire,” the police said.

The fire was rapidly put out by Contra Costa County Fire. The police confirmed that the car and a commercial building were not occupied during the accident, as confirmed by the police.

The estimated value of the car was not revealed.

The police said: “Based on the information collected from the scene of the accident, the investigators decided that the fire was deliberately placed on the car by an unknown suspect.”

The motivation and circumstances behind the accident are not yet known.
