Austin – In the face of financial conflicts, the independent region of Austin will take strict steps by closing some middle and primary schools throughout the city to help solve budget challenges.
The province said that the decrease in registration, high education costs, insufficient government financing and budget deficiency have deployed the province’s resources very thin through many universities. The general boycott began with a budget deficit more than $ 19 million in the general fund. The general fund helps to cover the salaries of teachers and daily operational expenses.
On Friday, AISD issued a preliminary draft plan to close 11 primary schools and middle schools.
Schools listed in the closure list in the plan project include: Bedichek, Martin Middle, as well as Barrington, Becker, Bryker Woods, Dawson, MAPLEWOOD, Oak Springs, Palm, RidgetOp, Sunset Valley, Wide, Winn Montessori.
In addition to closing the building, the international high school will move from a school that participated in the North East College School to a program at Navarro Early College High School.
The province also said that the pickled elementary schools, Wooten, Odom and Sanchez will reuse them to Spanish dual language programs at the campus level.

Provincial director Matthias Sigura said the list is a draft, and the board of directors will search for the plan on October 9. From there, the boycott will hold several meetings with society. The final vote on the plan was determined on November 20.
Parents interact
There were grumbling for a period of time that the schools would be closed, and one of those schools is Becker Elementary.
Tanner Vanessin said: “Watching something we have built over the years we love, loves my children, which is a house for them, went far away and we were told that it does not matter how much our children love school, it is a snare.”
Becker students will be re -set to Zilker Elementary School, and the Spanish Double Language Program will be transferred to the school level to integrate with Sanchez Elementary and becomes an uninterrupted program, according to the region.
Becker is one of the schools that have provided dual language programs, but will now be transferred to Sanchez Elementary School with Baker’s closure.
“I think that the rented schools in the dual language and private schools … are now happy because they are about to get a flow from people,” Vanessin said.
ISD said that Baker has many students who travel from other areas to participate in the program, and the campus serves only 20 % of two -language students.
Some AISD KXAN parents told that they would think of leaving AISD if they closed their school.
“Once we talk to the basic group of our children and friends, we will try to make a collective decision that is best for all of us that we can go to a community to a rented area or school that will accept us,” Vaonsen said.
How AISD has reached here?
In April, AISD started collecting and reviewing data on how to operate schools based on size, condition, number of students and costs. The area also launched a community survey to receive the comments.
In June, AISD held meetings and workshops in the city hall, which is looking for academic programming, border and students’ transport.
