New California driver's license features updated design, security features

(Crohn) – The next time you renew your driving license in DMV, you may notice some changes. Wednesday, California Car DepartmentS announced changes to the driver’s licenses issued by the state and identity cards.

The appearance of the new ID cards, according to DMV, is characterized by “the unique beauty of the country’s scene” as well as “advanced security measures and updated technology.” The cards feature a new rear design that displays Redwood, Poppies and Coastline trees, along with the familiar Instate Insignia.

In the security point of view, the cards are distinguished by an improved anti -increase, signing of additional digital safety, the first of its kind, and tapes on the back. Magnetic strip at the back of the existing cards is also going.

If you just renew your driving license last year, do not worry. The current driver’s licenses and identity cards will remain valid until the expiration date, despite the introduction of new cards.

“The new cards use the technique of the next generation to enhance security and with a design that shows the iconic Redwoods, poppy and coast in California,” said Steve Gordon, DMV. “Although I know some of our customers will want the new version of the driver’s license, there is no need to replace a license or an existing identity card until your current expiration ends.”

A driver’s license fees remained at $ 45. ID cards $ 39.
