Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, were in no mood to hear about San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh complain about sign-stealing before the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the 49ers 26-21 in Week 4.
Saleh complained that Jaguars head coach Liam Coen had an advanced sign-stealing system. In fact, both coaches were seen exchanging words on the field after the game, with Coen reportedly telling Saleh to keep his name out of his mouth.
What Did Jason and Travis Kelce Say About Robert Saleh?
The Kelces discussed this “coach fight,” as they referred to it, on Wednesday’s new episode of their popular “New Heights” podcast.
“Nice, good for Liam,” Jason said. After Travis shared information about the Saleh-Coen on-field interaction, Jason offered more insights into the matter.
“He walked by and threw his little temper tantrum as he was walking by Robert Saleh as he tried to go up and shake his hand,” Jason said. “Then, when he was a good distance away, that was when he shouted, ‘Keep my name out of your f**king mouth,’ while players were kind of holding back.
“Dude, f*** off. Everybody in the NFL steals signals to an extent. I’m not buying this bulls**t.”
Travis replied, “Like, what do you mean, steal signals is so crazy.”

Jason said that if a team is “dumb enough on defense” to raise their arms above their heads with their palms up [as he displayed on video] and do it when playing Cover 4, you’re a f**king idiot. What do you want me to say?”
“I’m calling that out,” Travis said. “Everyone on the offense, Cover 4.”
“If you’re on the sideline as a coach and every time you do this [Jason puts his fingers together] in a two-minute situation or whatever, it’s whatever blitz, that’s on you motherf**ker. Be better at signaling. I am so over, like, some people view Tom Brady like he stole signs. He beat the Philadelphia Eagles in a Super Bowl.
“You know what I think? Huh, really f**king smart by those guys. They outsmarted you stupid f**ks. Like, what do you want me to say? You’re the f**king idiot, stupid enough to get your signals stolen. I got no, I have zero issue with it.”
Travis added that a team will use signals to hide how they communicate on the field. “Be better at signals,” he said. Jason added that he loved coaches fighting with each other, sounding like he couldn’t wait to get back on the field. Fret not, though. Jason is retired and enjoying the good life with his podcast, TV appearances, and commercials.
Travis is still active and catching balls from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs will face Coen, Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence, and the Jaguars’ 12th-ranked offense (by PFSN’s Offense Impact metric) on Monday Night Football to end Week 5.
