Netanyahu says Israel working on ceasefire plan on eve of Trump meeting. Gaza death toll tops 66,000

Tel Aviv, Israel (AP) – On the eve of the meeting with US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel is working on a new ceasefire plan with the White House, but the details are still being sorted.

Netanyahu was subjected to heavy international pressure to end the war, especially during the ongoing attack in Gaza City. The Ministry of Health in Gaza said on Sunday that the death toll in the Israeli war, Hamas, topped 66,000 Palestinians.

At the White House meeting on Monday, Trump is expected to share a new proposal to end the conflict.

“We are working on it,” Netanyahu told Fox News Sunday. “This has not yet been completed, but we are working with President Trump’s team, in fact and we are talking, and I hope we can – we can make it.”

Arab officials who have seen the plan say that the proposal of the 21 points calls for an immediate ceasefire, the release of all the hostages that Hamas maintains within 48 hours and a gradual withdrawal of the Israeli forces from Gaza. Officials spoke on the condition that his identity was not disclosed because the proposal was not officially announced.

Netanyahu pledged to continue the fighting until an attack was destroyed on October 7, 2023. But he repeated an offer to allow Hamas’s agents to leave Gaza as part of a deal that ends the conflict.

“If they finished the war, and they issued all the hostages, then we left them,” he said.

Increase international pressure on Israel

Trump has so far stood behind Israel. But the American leader showed signs of patience recently, especially after Israel struck the headquarters of Hamas’s political leadership in Doha, Qatar, earlier this month. The ceasefire talks have been stopped since then, despite the growing international and local protests.

The main Western allies have joined a list of countries that are aware of the Palestinian state on Israeli objections. The European Union is studying sanctions and there are increasing moves to boycott sports and a cultural boycott against Israel.

Netanyahu, the challenge, told colleagues of world colleagues on Friday at the United Nations General Assembly that his nation “must end the job” against Hamas in Gaza, where 48 hostages are still held, about 20 of them believed by Israel to be alive.

Plan to stop shooting from 21 points for Trump

The suggestion of the ceasefire will include Trump will include the launch of all hostages within 48 hours and a gradual withdrawal of the Israeli forces from the Palestinian enclave, according to three Arab officials in the plan. The officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the ongoing talks, said the proposal is not permanently and that the changes are very possible.

Trump discussed the proposal with Arab leaders in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

Hamas official said that the group was launched in the plan, but it has not yet received an official offer from Egyptian and Qatari brokers. Hamas said it was “to study any positive and responsibility proposals.”

The official said that the group had previously said it was ready to release all the hostages in exchange for ending the war and withdrawing the full Israeli forces from the tape.

The explosions were reported without stopping in Gaza

Local hospitals in central Gaza said that at least 10 people were killed when at least two homes were struck in the Nawyan refugee camp.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza said in its daily report that the death toll has risen to 66,005, with another 168,162 wounded since the war began.

The ministry does not differentiate, which is part of the Hamas administration, which is run by Hamas among civilians and fighters in its losses, but said that women and children constitute about half of the dead. Its numbers are seen as reliable appreciation by the United Nations and many independent experts.

The population has reported to hear the sounds of explosions overnight throughout the city, which is likely to come from the demolition of buildings by detonating vehicles and explosive robots. “They were non -stop,” said Sayed Baker, a Palestinian who is approaching the Shiva Hospital.

The Israeli army did not immediately comment on the strikes, but he said it hit 140 military targets of Hamas over the past 24 hours, including militants, monitoring equipment and infrastructure.

On Sunday, the army said it hit a tall building in Gaza City after the residents warned of the evacuation. The strike settled the 16 -storey Makkah Makkah Tower. No victims were reported.

The Israeli army said that the building includes “the military infrastructure that belongs to Hamas.” It is the latest in a series of demolitions in recent weeks as Israel has expanded its spelling.

Israel’s attack destroyed vast areas of Gaza, which resulted in the displacement of about 90 % of the population amid a catastrophic humanitarian crisis, with experts saying Gaza City is suffering from famine.

On Sunday, Israeli security forces also killed the alleged striker in an accident in which a man was seriously injured at the intersection of a road near Naples in the West Bank.
