Evergreen High School students reconnect at Evergreen Lake before returning to the classroom

Evergreen, COLO (KDVR) – Dozens of Evergreen high school students came to Lake Evergreen Lake on Wednesday, for a free boat day hosted by officials in the hope of giving students some time to re -call before returning to the classroom.

“The teenagers are flexible because they are ready to see their classmates, they are ready to see their teachers and they are ready to celebrate together,” said Kaleer Banderburg, the coordinator of the lake’s house with Lake Evergrin.

Lake officials said that many high school students are employees in the lake, which is a “center” for students who grew up in the region.

“We were all sad,” said Funderburgh. “We rushed as soon as we can help us, but we cannot, I don’t think you expect to be in your hometown until it is.”

Some students who went to the Fox31 boat day were “ready to return to the class,” but one of the senior at Evergreen High School, Tyler Guyton, told Fox31 that there are many feelings after the shooting on September 10.

“Two weeks have passed and the shock does not disappear within two weeks,” Geton said.

Geton also said that although students will return to school, the return will feel different.

“We still have to get children at school, and I have friends who drive their car to school and throw them or others who cannot bypass the library’s trauma issue,” said Joiton.

Wednesday night, the school hosted an open house for both parents and students to come and watch the school before returning.

“I feel good because everything will be good and there will be more security that will make everyone feel better,” said Ford Ghost, a student of a green school.

Jefferson Public County Schools previously announced plans for employees and students to return to high school. There will be student activities held during the morning of Thursday and Friday, and students will return to school in partial days of the semesters on Monday and Tuesday.

Just and Guyton Fox31 told most students ready to return based on a questionnaire by students.

“It has been frightening, in the past 12 years that we were entering and outside the exercises that plan for that, but we have never believed that this would happen in Evergreen,” said Joiton.

The province said previously that the employees were undergoing training to help in dealing with trauma response and mental support would be available at school.
