Chiefs Star Takes Blunt Shot at Russell Wilson After SNF Win Over Giants

Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones just got his first sack of the 2025 season, and it’s all thanks to Russell Wilson. Jones sacked Wilson during the third quarter, the New York Giants QB hitting a new low as the team fell to a 0-3 win-loss record.

However, Jones went viral for his postgame comments about the veteran QB.

Chiefs DE Chris Jones Delivers Blunt Statement About Swapping Jerseys With Giants QB Russell Wilson

For a long time, Jones has been trying to swap jerseys with Wilson. However, owing to multiple reasons, the same hasn’t been possible. Naturally, Jones was asked about a jersey swap after their blowout 22-9 SNF win against the Giants.

Jones, though, no longer has the same opinion on swapping jerseys with Wilson.

“A jersey swap [with Russell Wilson] and you’ve never gotten one. Did you ask him again tonight?” the reporter asked Jones postgame.

Jones, no longer interested, said: “I don’t even want it. It’s all good.”

The Chiefs DE added that one understands overtime, repeating that he no longer wants to swap jerseys. The reporter looked shocked at Jones’ words, turning around as she smiled in surprise.

Fans, though, seemed to enjoy Jones’ candid comments. Many were upset with Wilson’s disastrous performance and agreed that Jones shouldn’t want his jersey anyway.

“Why would we want a bums jersey anyway,” one fan said.

Many found the situation funny, wondering why Jones had to be completely candid.

“Lmfaooooooooooo that man is a demon he said he’d rather go home empty-handed than rock that jersey 😂😂😂😂,” one user said.

“Can you blame him? Lol,” another user mentioned.

Some even wondered about Jones, wondering why he was being sassy during his postgame interview.

“Why Chris Jones so sassy at the end of all of these games. What’s going on? 😂” one fan asked.

That said, Jones — who helped his team bag a win — didn’t confirm whether his decision was based on waiting too long or on Wilson’s bad performance.

Giants Fans Want Wilson Gone

Now, it’s no surprise that Giants fans want Wilson gone from their team. Despite a good showing during their 40-37 loss against the Dallas Cowboys, Wilson’s performance on Sunday night was enough for fans to boo the QB, asking for the Giants to bring in Jaxson Dart.

The crowd chanted “We Want Dart,” visibly upset at the disastrous score.

Many asked for Wilson to be off their team, declaring the veteran unplayable.

Wilson threw two interceptions during the game, finishing 18 of 32 for 160 yards.

Now, while Wilson has a chance of finding his tempo as the season progresses, there’s little chance of the Giants actually making the playoffs.

Hoping to get a win on the table, the Giants will face the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, September 28, for their Week 4 clash.
