Jefferson Province, Colorado – Tired of traffic jams and car parks headache on its way to Red Rocks runway or famous Jefferson County? Well, the provincial leaders announced a new free shuttle service for the public.
The seasonal shuttle is expected to launch the weekend in 2026 and will operate on weekends and holidays until Labor Day.
“It is a connection,” said Andy Care, Jefferson Provincial Commissioner, to Fox31. “It is the ability of a person from downtown Denver to use public transportation to obtain red rocks and all other amenities here in this valley.”
The shuttle will leave from the RTD station in the golden language and take six stations between Golden and Morrison, all of which are free. The planned destinations include the dinosaur Ridge, Matthews/Winters Park, Red Rocks Tadawul Post, in the center of Morrison and the Morrison Museum of Natural History.
Kiir said the initiative aims to reduce congestion and improve access to external destinations.
“We know this will not fix everything,” Kiir said. “But we know that we will be able to reduce some crowding that people face when they try to enter and get out of the valley.”
Julian Bukit, RTD Chairman, said the program is an important step towards improving public transportation access to the open air.
“A program like this will be great for people to ride our bars and then jump on a shuttle,” said Bukit. “They may not have to enter a car to move from point A to point B, to point C and D.”
The defenders of the environment and society also praised the shuttle as a way to improve the arrival in the open air.
“I have friends who grew up from the inner city of Denver and who are still going to the red rocks,” said Ian Thomas Tafoya, director of Colorado state in Greenlatinus. “This is the issue of royal rights that we finally deal with.”
The experimental program is expected to continue until 2028 thanks to a $ 840,000 grant from the regional transport zone.
