Denver (KDVR) – Denver’s public schools host annual training for the transit guards in their area on Monday, September 22nd.
The educational zone said on Friday that this training is conducted by the Ministry of Climate and Safety, which employs more than 50 transit guards in total.
DPS said that the transit guards “play a key role” in “ensuring safety” during the crowded schools in getting rid of times and picking up times, while they regularly bear “serious and stressful conditions.”
“The annual training will provide crossing guards a safe environment to practice communication strategies and remove escalation with the experience of the modest types of meetings that they may face every day,” DPS said in a statement.
DPS said that the crossing system must deal with cars that are accelerating through the corridors and drivers who grow their pods, scream or ignore traffic laws.
The educational zone said: “This training confirms DPS’s commitment to ensuring that the guards are not ready only to protect students, but it is also supported in dealing with mental and emotional stress that comes while keeping families safe upon arrival and separation.”
