Denver (KDVR) – There are more than 300 parks across Denver, and the city of Mile Hi City will get more gardens with the conversion of an old golf course.
In the shade directly to the east of the downtown Denver, an old golf course sits, closed for years, where there will soon be the new Park Hill Park. The grass and enlarged trees sitting in the empty piece make it as if it were a post -shown display or movie.
“I remembered the project every time I drive on Colorado Street, I lead north on Colorado Street, because you can see the duel, as you know, property has deteriorated. There are a lot of weeds and so on,” said Paul Uros, a resident of Denver.
But the city is looking forward to changing this – a huge project is now taking place to convert what is currently in a state of chaos into the largest project in Denver and its entertainment in the years.
“This will be the largest garden that we have opened since Wash Park in 1911. It is the largest special excavation that has ever purchased the city of a garden. It will be the fourth largest park in our stock,” said Denver Parks and Entertainment Director Julon Clark.
The fourth biggest, just behind Sloan’s Lake Park, City Park and Washington Park.
But not only the garden aspiring the city to change. The city asks the community to enter intolerance Online On what they want to see, it happens in the neighborhood. The survey is available in English and Spanish.
“There was no grocery store on this side of the neighborhood. There is no secondary school on this side of the neighborhood. There are major plans for dedication to nature, but not complete foods,” said Adam Burur, a Denver resident.
Although the plan is still in its early stages, those who attended the event today say they are receiving change and have their own ideas about what they want the future of the forgotten golf course.
“I really hope that there will be a kind of successful success factor in order to become a destination. Maybe we have a company outside the city and we love, oh, the first thing, oh, we must go to see this garden,” said Linda Uros, who resides in Denver.
“We want a quick way for the bike as well. We want bicycles able to move from the train station directly to Colfax. This way, the men are safe,” Bruer said. “This is big. This is for children. This is for those who are in the next.”
