CIARA’S SON WITH RAPPER FUTURE OFFICIALLY SHARES RUSSELL WILSON’S LAST NAME

Ciara’s oldest son, Future Zahir, whom she shares with rapper Future, now officially carries Russell Wilson’s last name.

TMZ reports the singer, who has full custody of her 11-year-old, legally added her husband’s surname to her son’s name several years ago.

While he still has his father’s last name, Wilburn, in his full legal name, “Wilson” is now officially part of it.

The change went largely unnoticed until this week, when Russell shared a family photo from the US Open.

“Mrs. @ciara Wilson Future Wilson & Sienna Wilson,” he captioned the shot  and fans immediately caught the “Wilson” attached to Ciara’s son, sparking speculation the NFL star had formally adopted him.

Ciara and Russell, who have been married for nine years, share three children together. The quarterback has often spoken about his role as a stepdad, making it clear he views no difference between Future and his biological kids.

“It’s like, man, God gave me that opportunity to raise them and to love them and to care for them and teach them every day. There’s no difference,” Wilson said during a 2023 sit-down on the I Am Athlete podcast. “To me, it’s the greatest gift and knowing that’s the responsibility to raise these four beautiful children all together.”

The Super Bowl champ also recalled meeting Future Zahir when he was just 9 months old and feeling a divine calling to step into his life.

“I remember leaving that night and God saying to me, ‘raising this child is going to be your responsibility,’” Wilson shared, recounting the moment. “‘God, you’re going to give me this opportunity? What a gift,’” he remembered saying to himself.

“I think that when you’re raising children and you’re married and everything else and loving, you got to love every single child as if they’re yours. That’s been the greatest gift of raising Future, Sienna, Win and now Amora,” he added.
