Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, welcomed him as a “old friend”, where the two held a series of meetings on Tuesday at a time when their countries face overlapping and different challenges from the United States.
Relations between China and Russia have deepened in recent years, especially after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in early 2022. The approach of US President Donald Trump in the war added to the relationship but it does not seem mainly to others.

In a sign of the importance of placing China on the relationship, its official meeting followed tea with senior assistants at Zhongnanhai, the punctured complex that is the center of power in China with housing and offices of its senior leaders.
China announced after talks that it would start providing a 30 -day visa free access to Russian travelers who start later this month.
The talks come the next day to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the nearby Chinese city of Tianjin, and the previous day a major Chinese military parade in Beijing to celebrate the eighties of the end of World War II.

“China and Russia face the same problem and should work together to deal with pressure from the United States,” said Lee Xin, director of the Institute of European and Asian Studies at Shanghai University of Political Science and Law.
China is also one of the main targets of Trump taxes on imports, although it retracted what was the escalating tariff war and its management began negotiations with Beijing in a commercial deal.
The Schenghai Cooperation Organization summit of 10 members and Putin brought with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who held separate talks with both leaders on the sidelines of the Tianjin meeting.
