AYESHA CURRY NEVER SAW MARRIAGE OR KIDS IN HER FUTURE

Ayesha Curry is opening up about how different her life looks from the one she once imagined.

The mom of four revealed on a recent episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast that she never pictured herself as a wife or mother when she was growing up.

“I didn’t want kids. I didn’t wanna get married. I thought I was gonna be a career girl and that’s it,” Ayesha shared. “And I had my eyes set on my goals, and I was never the little girl that, like, dreamt about the wedding dress and all of that.”

But everything changed when she met Steph Curry. The two tied the knot in 2011, when Ayesha was just 22.

Asked by host Alex Cooper how she knew she was ready for such a major step, Ayesha admitted, “I didn’t. I just knew that I loved him and I’d never experienced anything else.”

Three months into their marriage, the couple were surprised to learn that Ayesha was pregnant with their first child, Riley, now 13.

“My OB said expect it to take up to a year. And so I’m like, in my head, I heard at least a year,” Ayesha said. “I was thinking we were gonna be bar hopping. It’s like, ‘Nope. You’re pregnant and you’re gonna be very, very sick.’ ”

Ayesha said she didn’t have time to process the whirlwind.

“After we got married, we found out we were pregnant with our daughters so quickly I didn’t even have time to think about what I wanted anymore,” she explained. “It’s so interesting. I spent my entire life, like, trying to work towards something and then it kind of just disappeared and I didn’t think twice about it.

That shift didn’t last forever. “But after my daughter turned 1, I remember there being a shift and being like, ‘I have goals for myself. Like, this doesn’t feel right. I love being a mom, but I love doing other things too.’”

Today, Ayesha and Steph are raising a full house with daughters Riley, 13, and Ryan, 10, plus sons Canon, 7, and baby Caius, 1. And while her path wasn’t what she once envisioned, Ayesha insists, “I wouldn’t change a thing.”
