(Crohn)-The Santa Rosa Police Administration said that a woman was entering the hospital due to life-threatening injuries after the victim’s driver was hit while her dog was walking on Thursday night. The dog was also hit in the accident, according to the police.
SRPD said that the officers, along with the fire and medical workers, arrived at 7:25 pm near Northwest Community Park, on 2,600 blocks of W. Steele Lane to get a report on a vehicle for a pedestrian collision.
“SRPD Dispatch received several calls 911, stating that one of the pedestrians was walking her dog was wounded while W. Steel Lin crossed towards the park,” said Santa Rosa police. “The car concerned was identified as a gray Honda that was stopped at the scene.”
Women were found by officials lying in unconsciousness in the corridor heading west of W. Steel Lane. She was transferred to a nearby hospital, while her dog was transferred by animal control officers in Sonoma Province to a local veterinary hospital.
“The dog was still alive when he was taken to the veterinarian,” police said in a statement to Kron4.
The police said that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
“Investigators are still trying to determine whether the pedestrian or driver has the right to the road.” The police added. “It seems that all traffic lights are working properly at the time of collision. The speed does not seem to be working at first.”
W. Steele Lane was closed between Apache and Marlows Roads for two hours after the accident.
