Man found with large collection of stolen tools, construction materials in Riverside


A man was arrested after police discovered a large collection of stolen tools and construction materials in Riverside Tuesday.

The suspect was identified as Joaquin Jimenez, 52, according to the Riverside Police Department.

At around 7:15 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Jimenez’s van near Jurupa Avenue and Van Buren Boulevard. 

Inside the van, police found a large collection of stolen property that was taken from a construction site earlier that morning.

Officers also found suspected methamphetamine, a drug pipe, a homemade zip gun and other items that were believed to be stolen.

Police said Jimenez has a criminal history of prior thefts and drug possessions. He was taken into custody and is being held without bail.
