Newark PD says burglars posing as landscapers, utility workers

(Krona) – Newark Police says they have received multiple calls from thieves who pretended as landscapes or utility workers who target the homes of the region by interruption to commit robbers after their door passes without an answer.

The Newark PD said it was reported that the suspects were wearing high -definition jackets for victims of deception.

“In some cases, these suspects were seen driving a mobile company truck and are active at different times of the day,” Nark Police said on a social media.

Police give the residents the following advice to stay awake:

  • Don’t open the door to strangers, but make sure they know someone is at home by speaking across the door.
  • If you are far away, watch your safety cameras and verify alerts immediately.
  • Lock all doors and windows, especially before leaving or going to bed.
  • Check the utility company if someone claims that he is one of them.
  • Think about starting the neighborhood monitoring group to enhance safety and communication in your community.
  • Reporting an suspicious activity immediately to Newark PD.
