Kristen's Classroom: Historic August hurricanes

Augan – Data contracts appear as one of the most preoccupied months for the Atlantic Hurricane season. Its average is about four storms of its name, and it usually becomes hurricanes, August is the second most active month from the season (second to September).

The environment needed for tropical development becomes more convenient in August, especially with regard to warmer sea surface temperatures. There is also a slight decrease in wind cutting, or unfavorable winds at the upper levels of the atmosphere that usually acts against orbital formation.

The first week of August produced one storm, Dxter tropical storm. This system is unlikely to affect the ground or reach the state of the hurricane.

If we look back, some notorious hurricanes have evolved in August, including Harvey, Katrina and Andrew.

Below is a summary summary of each.

Hurricane Harvey (2017)

Hurricane Harvey achieved landing on August 25, 2017, in the coastal curve in Texas (reached the strength of the tropical storm on August 17). I quickly intensified into a 4 -category storm before approaching the coast, and slowly slowed up to 5 miles. Hurricane Katrina (2005)

An estimated 49,000 homes were destroyed and another 108,000 were attached. The storm led to 15 direct deaths and 28 indirect deaths.
