The Punisher Set Video Teases Absolute Chaos in Jon Bernthal MCU Special – Jimmy Star’s World

A new video from the set of Marvel Studios‘ upcoming Disney+ special presentation about The Punisher has surfaced online. At the moment, the adult-oriented special has no official release date yet, but it is expected to debut sometime in 2026.

What happens in the Punisher set video?

The set video continues to provide fans with a glimpse of what’s next for Jon Bernthal‘s fan-favorite Marvel character, after he was able to escape captivity from Mayor Wilson Fisk during the first season of Daredevil: Born Again. It shows the streets of New York City in chaos, while Bernthal’s Frank Castle/Punisher seemingly ignores what’s happening around him, which includes a burning police car and some citizens fighting each other.

The Punisher Special Presentation will take place after Daredevil: Born Again, with Reinaldo Marcus Green directing from a script he co-wrote with Bernthal. The special will also feature Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle and Roe Rancell. As seen in the first set videos, supervillain Ma Gnucci is also expected to make her live-action debut in the special.

According to Bernthal, the untitled special is “going to be dark; Frank has no interest in breaking out the darkness… It will not be Punisher-lite, I promise you that.” He later added in a separate interview, “If we do it, we do it right, and we have real sacred integrity to the source material.”

Besides the Disney+ Special Presentation, Bernthal will also reprise the anti-hero in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, and in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day which had just started its production. The latter will serve as Bernthal’s first appearance in an MCU movie.
