The passenger was arrested near the scene. The driver tried to escape through the nearby RV park, but was met with another dead end.
“The driver ran through the nearby RV park, threw firearm on the surface of the residence, and tried to escape over a fence,” VPD said. “Unfortunately for him, the fence was covered with barbed wire.”
The driver was arrested and unregistered Glocks equipped with an extended magazine and seized it at the scene. The police conducted records on the driver and learned that he was a minor and had no driver’s license.
“His mother was contacted, and he was later seized in the juvenile detention facility in Solano County,” VPD said.
The man in the passenger’s seat was found to monitor and was seized in Solano County Prison.
“This issue highlights all the risks faced by the threats and danger posed by armed suspects fleeing residential neighborhoods,” said VPD. “Thanks to our quick response, coordination and diligence, two suspects were arrested and another illegal firearm was removed from our streets.”
