SANA Francisco (KON)-Kaiser Berminity’s decision to stop the gender care of patients under the age of 19, has sparked protests from nurses outside San Francisco Hospital.
Changing policy has disappointed between many nurses who feel that the employer gives priority to compliance with federal orders to care for patients. They argue that the decision leaves young transgender patients with limited options to receive the necessary medical support.
“Talking about people who are likely to be on these lists for years, and people who are waiting for their surgeries to feel that they are the original for the first time in their lives before they go to college,” said Sydney Simpson, a nurse registered in the interventional rays in Kaiser.
One of the mother who chose to protect her identity said: “It is not a decision to go with a lightness, that it is not something we have chosen, or chose my child, no one will choose this, we are identified.”
“I think children need protection and that they cannot already make this decision,” said Julie Lin, who is opposing the gender affirmation.
“This is a very difficult time and a struggle for our patients and our doctors. We will remain a voice and call for safe, high -quality and evidence -based care for sexually transformed patients,” Kaiser Permanente said.
The nurses and parents have expressed their concerns about the impact of politics on transgender adolescents, noting the risk of mental health problems without reaching gender care.
The protest was met with Kaiser Berminity, with anti -individuals who support the hospital’s decision, while emphasizing the need for careful study in medical decisions involved in minors.
Kaiser Permanente indicated that its decision is affected by the executive orders that affect the financing of confirmed sexual care, although specific details of these orders are not disclosed.
California Public Prosecutor Rob Punta urges legal action against politics, indicating that she determines a dangerous precedent for health care practices.
