Austin-KXAN Football Fans gathered from all the stars and local volunteers on Saturday to clean and restore the paths and beaches of Lady Bird Lake.
Nearly 300 people gathered to help clean and restore 5.2 million square feet of water and fruits, in partnership while maintaining a beautiful Austin, a path and trees.
The Vice President of Community Impact of Austin FC, Trennis Jones, stated that such cleaning was necessary for society.
Jones said: “It is a beautiful day to be there and clean garbage – but I believe that caring for trees and caring for the corridor … as you know, it is an essential part,” Jones said. “We all need an individual work as part of a group work. There were many people … the cleaning does not stop when all the stars do, so we look forward to getting out of the people as well.”
Reviving trees was also a priority during the cleaning process, as more than 400 cubic pounds of mulch were distributed, with local volunteers such as Robert Allen’s participation in this effort.
Allen said: “It is a beautiful thing, man. “After MLS went out here and celebrates the city. Trees and nature are a large part of Austin … we hope we can do this again.”
