The growing memorial is sitting outside the Los Angeles Provincial Administration Training Center in East Los Angeles, where three veteran deputies were killed on Friday in a fatal explosion.
Representatives who fell-investigators, Joshua Kelly Elond, Victor Limos, and William Ospuren-74, served with the department. Between them, they leave behind 16 children and destroyed families are still trying to address what happened.
“There are no words to express the pain and sadness we feel,” said Sharif Robert Luna. “These heroes are the best in our section, and they represent courage, integrity and non -selfish service. This is not just a tragic loss for their families, but for all of us.”
Flowers, candles, and handwritten messages are now lining up the vicinity of the Biscailu Regional Training Center in Eastern Avenue, where the explosion occurred at about 7:30 am on Friday. The deputies have been published on the site, and it is now the crime scene under the active investigation.
On Saturday morning, a group of deputies clearly visited the growing memorial. Among them was the supervisor of Los Angeles Hilda Solis, who put flowers.
The authorities say that the explosion occurred while the investigators – all of them are part of the details of the burning explosives in LASD – were moving not shown explosives that were recovered from the Santa Monica apartment the night the night. The team was called to a residential complex in the Bay Street to remove a group of potential volatile devices.
When one of these devices was handled at the East La facility the next morning, he exploded unexpectedly.
The force of the explosion shattered the windows and took the car warnings about 100 feet. Despite early reports of multiple injuries, Sharif Luna later confirmed that the three investigators were the only losses.
“This is the biggest loss of life for us as an honorable section in Los Angeles Province since 1857,” Luna said. “They are great experts, and unfortunately, you lost three of them today.”
The officials did not say who stored or stored the device, but they indicated that criminal charges can be submitted depending on what the investigators learn. The Federal Bureau of alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives is now the investigation, along with the FBI and Lapd Bomb team.
ATF has also published the National Election response team-a specialized unit of federal agents, explosives experts, forensic scientists, engineers and K-9-to the East La Training Center. On Friday evening, an official procession was accompanied by the fallen deputies from the Training Center to the Medical Displacement Office in Los Angeles Province. The first respondents, the city leaders, and his sad colleagues lined up on a 3.5 -mile road to salute them.
The administration has since issued additional information about the deputies:
- Detective Joshua Kelly Illond, a former drug officer who joined LASD in 2006, married seven children.
