72-year-old powerlifting nun from SF preparing for first competition

San Francisco (Crohn)-Bat Farrell, a 72-year-old nun from San Francisco, is preparing to compete in the first energy raising competition on Saturday at Iron Warehouse in Haward.

Farrell has trained in the courtyard in San Francisco, where it has been working religiously over the past two months. Her dedication to fitness is supported by her church community, which helped her to maintain her motives.

“It is an inspiring thing, it was easily one of the most outgoing people who entered the gym,” said Josh Keel, head of community experience in the courtyard.

Farrell follows a strict diet for plants, has been committed to fitness for years, and has noticed significant improvements in her health, including enhanced muscles and decreasing issues on the back.

“The essence of my country has strengthened, strengthening my muscles and a lot of problems with my lower back has decreased incredibly,” she said.

Farrell is unique not only for her age but also a first nun to join the training schedule in the yard. It is part of the diocese of San Francisco and attends the Mass in the Church of St. Dominic.

It will compete in Deadlift and Bench Press sections, raising lighter weights in preparation for the competition to avoid trouble with its coach.

This year, Farrell set new goals for herself while facilitating her first weightlifting competition.

“I lift a little at the present time because the competition on Saturday and I will face a problem with my coach if I raise very heavy,” she said.

It will compete in the deadly and seat seat sections at the Iron Warehouse in Hayouard on Saturday.
