Teen victim sues Aurora Police Department, former student resource officer for inappropriate texts

Aurora, Colorado (KDVR) – A resource official at the former Aurora School, who was convicted of sending inappropriate text messages to a student, faces more legal problems.

The teenage victim and her family are now sued Egide Ndagije, the former officer, the Aurora Police Department for neglect, violating constitutional rights, and emotional distress.

Ndagije accepted the deal of guilt and criminal condemnation, confessing guilty to the official misconduct, to send sexually charged messages. He was sentenced to monitoring prison, community service, and he can never work as a police officer in Colorado.

Now that the criminal operation was played in the court, a 31 -page civil complaint was filed in the local Arab Province Court, in which it is called “GROOMED” and “sexually exploited it” asking at that time.

The complaint continues that the Aurora Police Department “failed to examine the officer, train and supervise the officer.”

Lawyer Matthew Halzman was the victim since the 2023 incident, which was mentioned for the first time last year.

“My client and her family want to bear this section and the official of this officer,” Haltzman told Fox31.

At that time, Ndagije SRO was at Aurora Secondary School and exchanged mobile numbers with the victim who continued to help. Harmful text messages show the former officer, who is 16 years old, asking for sexual meetings and experiences and interrogating her from her underwear, among other inappropriate things.

“The level of his comfort in a text message indicates that this type of things that he has done is disturbing and the fact that he is a member of the application of the law and knows all the consequences of his decision to do so, and this is scary,” explained this time.

The victim was uncomfortable with text messages and shared with her parents who then reported the accident to the police. NDAGIGE was placed on vacation and internal affairs and CBI were made. In the end, the investigation was brought against criminal charges against Nadji.

The previous SRO resigned during the internal investigation. The URORA police told Fox31 in a statistic if he did not resign, my scars will be terminated.

“This is an example of a text book on the lack of supervision,” said Haltzman. “This is an officer with a little training, and no one truly verifies or makes sure that he is involved in an inappropriate behavior. We know that because all this behavior happened directly under the APD nose.”

He says the victim is still suffering from nearly two years of accident. It has been diagnosed with post -traumatic disorder and anxiety.

Haltzman said that the red flags were flagrant. The former SRO graduated from the same secondary school of Orora, and he was in his twenties, brought young girls to his office alone, and used a police database to search for personal information about the victim and her family members, and took pictures of students on his cell phone.

Haltzman said: “Was anyone in APD in a long -time supervisory position to come to school and check things, to find out what was going on, had seen that something is very wrong happening here and did not happen.”

Ndajji certificate was canceled after the state. The APD Fox31 told that they had informed the Prosecutor’s Office of his sincerity, but they could not comment on the suspended litigation.
