More Intel layoffs as company cuts over 400 Bay Area jobs

(Kron) – Intel will reduce more than 400 jobs in the Gulf region in the last round of workers’ demobilization in the technology giant. The chips maker will reduce 410 jobs in Santa Clara, where its headquarters is located, according to a notice presented to the Ministry of Employment Development. Two workers’ demobilization will be at the Intel’s Bowers Avenue with 216 additional jobs that are cut at the Juliette Lane facility.

Eight others were cut on the Lorelwood Road road site. However, the majority of the company will be on the company’s communication site as 184 jobs will be reduced.

Outside the Gulf region, Intel will also reduce 174 jobs at the Folsom facility in Sacramento Province, making the total number of workers ’layoffs in this round to 584. The job cuts, which are scheduled to enter into force on Tuesday, July 15, are all described as permanent.

The latest operations of workers follow another round of discounts in Intel earlier this month when it delivered 110 people. Last month, the chip maker threw 107 jobs locally. Intel has also demobilized workers in the state of Oregon, Arizona and Texas.

Recently, the technology company has closed the auto department.

The discounts in Intel come at a time when the competing CHIPMAKER witnessed an increase in its market value, as the most valuable Wall Street was crowned earlier this week.
