21 charges filed against suspect in Thornton shooting

Denver (KDVR)-Thornton Police Administration filed a total charge against the suspect claimed to be involved in unnecessary shooting on June 19.

in mailThe Thornton Police Administration states that the officers responded to a person’s reports in a car launching multiple tours towards a stay in the 9500 building from the Clayton Court.

The respondent officers saw a car that matches the description of the initial reports and tried to take a traffic situation, eventually driving the driver to flee.

TPD stated that the officers have regained many coincidences, and confirmed that the accident appears to be targeted and then identified the suspect as Carlos Valentine Lopez, 33.

After the initial investigation, the officers decided that “there was no ongoing threat to the public” as it was claimed that Lopez had fled from the scene, but the police issued “to be alert” based on the information and the seriousness of the accident at the time.

Lopez was later arrested in Wyoming by law enforcement.

The seventeenth Judicial Public Prosecutor Office submitted fees against Lopez on June 25:

  • 9 charges of a threat felony (Class 5)
  • 8 Criminal inflammation (Category 5)
  • 4 Criminal harm (Category 5, 2 Class Criminal 6, Class Misdemeanor 2)

TPD stated that the initial polo reflects the intensity of the accident, the final charges were presented based on modern evidence.
