Denver (AP)-NBA MVP Nikola Jokic has decided three times delaying the extension of the contract with the Denver Nuggets this summer, according to someone on the science of the Associated Press on Tuesday night.
The person spoke to AP on the condition that his identity is not disclosed because it did not treat Jokic or Naggets publicly. This does not affect the position of Jokic in Denver in the short term: It remained at least two years in his deal -55.2 million dollars this season and $ 59 million in 2026-27, along with the player’s option in 2027-28 approximately $ 63 million.
Jokic became qualified on Tuesday to sign an extension that could add three years and about 212 million dollars to his contract. By waiting until next summer to sign, Jokic will be eligible to add four years to his deal with more money than it would guarantee this summer’s extension.

Josh Kronk, Vice Chairman of Kroenke SPORTS and Entertainment, explained earlier this season that the team would make two options to Jokic – and respect for his decision.
“I am not sure whether he will accept it or not, because we will also explain every financial teacher about him now signing for the signature later,” Kronk said.
The 30-year-old starts from Serbia in a historic season in which it has become the first professional center in the American Professional League on average-29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.2 passes-and finished second place in Oklahoma City Gilgos-Alexander in MVP vote.
