The direction of warming that will strike southern California on Tuesday brings some negative air quality with it.
The Air Quality Management area on the southern coast said in a press statement that experts expect “a multi -day extreme ozone event” to influence a large part of southern California until Thursday.
The air quality index is expected to reach unhealthy levels of sensitive groups in the following areas:
- The interior, including Lasinor Lake, Corona, Hemate and Passadia
- Cochlla Valley
The air quality index is expected to reach unhealthy levels for everyone in the following areas:
- Santa Clarita Valley
- San Gabriel Valley
- San Bernardino Valley
- San Bernardino Mountains
The quality of the air is usually exacerbated after sunrise, and it reaches its peak in the middle of the afternoon and then decreases, which makes the early morning hours and overnight times with less than smoky fog.
During those hours, AQMD suggests the following:
- Reducing outdoor activities during the air quality lower periods
- Reducing garden and garden equipment that runs gasoline until evening hours
- Keep electricity and adjust the air conditioner to a higher temperature
- Delay trips to the fuel station and the use of household chemicals to the evening
Another update from AQMD is expected to remain if it is expected that the smoky fog levels will remain high on Thursday.
