The Texas Environmental Quality Committee requires the city to issue the notification due to low system pressure.

Residents are advised to boil all water before use, including to drink teeth, cleaning teeth, washing hands and face, and any other consumption.

The notification warns that children, the elderly, and people who suffer from weakening of the immune system are “especially exposed” to harmful bacteria.

“To ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, the water must be boiled and cooled for drinking and cooking and making ice before use.” “The water should be brought to a strong boiling and then boil for two minutes.”

City officials said the residents would be notified when the water is safe to use again.
