'High-risk times:' San Jose using drones to combat illegal Fourth of July fireworks

(Crohn)-The city of San Jose launched a new initiative using drone technology to track and combat illegal firework activity in actual time-with a fourth safer guarantee than July to the largest city in the Gulf region, just days before what they call “one of the times of high risk in the year.”

A member of the San Jose County Council Benin Duan announced on Wednesday that the new experimental program employs UAVS “to collect video and intelligence guides.” The program supports law enforcement in the issuance of categories against real estate owners using fireworks illegally through the social host decree.

It is only allowed to permitted general fireworks in San Jose, which includes nearly a million people.

“This is related to the use of smart and effective technology to maintain the safe neighborhood of our neighborhoods.” “Illegal fireworks are more than just inconvenience-they are a threat to public safety. With this experimental program, we can follow a proactive approach based on data, while reducing the minimum disorder in society.”

The drones were unanimously approved last February by the Strategic Support Committee for Public Safety in San Jose at major times, starting from the weekend of the fourth week of July.

“The initiative aims to reduce the risk of fires, prevent injuries, and protect both residents and respondents during one of the high risk times per year,” added the news statement. “The use of illegal fireworks is subject to categories and fines, and now – with the support of drone technology – enforcement efforts will be more targeted and effective.”
