This marks Clark’s second straight All-Star selection, which is impressive as it’s just her second season in the league. Her popularity has soared to the point where teams have shifted games to larger arenas to accommodate demand.
And now, she’ll captain an All-Star squad in front of a home crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on July 19. Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
Clark was informed of her selection via a surprise call from WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert. The Fever’s official X account shared a video of the moment with the caption:
“Caitlin, I just want to personally congratulate you on being named captain for the 2025 WNBA All-Star team. ❤️👏”

Clark, smiling widely, spoke to Fever beat writer Scott Agness following Sunday’s practice.
“It’s cool,” she said. “And it’s cool that fans get to be a part of it and have a little impact on the game.
It’s going to be really special to be able to do it here in this city. And I think there’s already been so much time and effort put in by so many people that aren’t going to get credit for what they did to bring All-Star here. So trying to make it the best All-Star the WNBA has ever had. I know we’ll certainly do that, but also it is certainly a cool honor for sure.”
Fans Will Help Shape All-Star Rosters As Clark Drafts Her Team on Live TV
Clark and Collier will be All-Star captains and help pick their teams as well.
The eight additional starters for the AT&T WNBA All-Star game will be decided through a combination of fans (50%), players (25%), and media (25%) voting, and will be revealed Monday, July 1, on ESPN during the NBA Free Agency special at 7 p.m. ET.
Once the starters are announced, WNBA head coaches will choose the 12 reserves, regardless of conference. Each coach will vote for three guards, five frontcourt players, and four additional players from any position.
Then, Clark and Collier will draft their teams live on July 8 at 7 p.m. ET during “WNBA Countdown,” ahead of the New York Liberty vs. Las Vegas Aces game on ESPN.
This will mark Collier’s fifth All-Star appearance since entering the league in 2019. For Clark, this second straight selection, combined with hosting duties and the captaincy, is shaping up as another defining milestone in an already historic start to her career.
Her impact on viewership is already proven. The 2024 WNBA All-Star Game in Phoenix drew a record-breaking 3.44 million viewers on ABC. That number may be just the beginning with Clark now front and center in her home city.
