Advancements in DNA technology help solve Bay Area cold case: PD

(Kron) – Novato Police Department has identified three suspects in a rape case that has not been resolved since 2017.

In February 2017, the victim of the crime was given a medical examination to get to know the attackers. DNA samples collected from the exam are sent to an analysis laboratory.

Experts have not been able to identify any suspects at the time. However, the new technology recently allowed investigators to reopen the case.

“Progress in DNA technology has helped since 2017 identify three suspects,” said Novato Police Administration.

The following suspects were identified regarding the case:

  • Gilson Delon Gammo, a 33 -year -old San Rafael resident (arrested)
  • Miguel Cruz Rivlo, a 27 -year -old Novato population (arrested)
  • Fernando Mendoza Cruz, a 30 -year -old population (generally)

“The threads were developed that Deleon-Gramajo was in San Raphael and was arrested last April,” NPD said. “The subsequent investigation indicated that Cruz Revilo was residing in Los Angeles. Novato PD was recruited from the fleeing business squad to serve Marshalaz.
