LBJ wrestler Rendon finding home, success in sport

Austin – When Michaella Renndon started as a wrestler, this was not the most encouraged start.

“My first match, I didn’t know what to do,” Renndon said. “So I shouted somewhat in the middle. I didn’t win.”

Seven months later, it seems that sport has always been part of her life.

“I love this sport because it is the sport of one man,” she said. “You cannot really rely on a team like football. It is really you and the other person. That’s about it.”

Although it is newer for this sport, Rindon was distinguished. She qualified for the National Junior Championship in Fargo, North Dakota, in July.

LBJ Stillout has just finished its first year and remains very focused.

“What makes Michaella is a distinctive idea that the athlete is what I call complete,” said Randy Bryant, Director of the LBJ High School. “She is doing what is necessary in the semester and she does what is necessary to be successful in athletics.”

Bryant is also the owner of heart and pride, where Michaella is trained. The club is free for students from the independent province of Austin.

“Some gyms that you can learn about this are only about money, but I feel they really want to help children and they are real,” she said.

Rendon is an athlete in every sense of the word. It has succeeded in the path, field and football, as well as boxing.

She said her boxing background helped her wrestling. Its goal in wrestling is simple.

“I want to win the country,” she said.

It helped stimulate the wrestling program in LBJ. There should be about 20 athletes in the program for the next season, which is much higher copies than it is.

She said, “It is a good feeling. I don’t want to say that I am the beginning, but I am one of the first to start the club as a reserve.” “It is a good feeling.”
