Houston Astros star shortstop Jeremy Peña has been in a loving relationship with Canadian women’s soccer star Julia Grosso since December 2024. Currently, Grosso plays club soccer with the Chicago Stars in the NWSL since signing a lucrative three-year deal with them in 2024. Previously, she used to play for the Serie A giants Juventus in Turin, Italy.
While the couple has been seldom spotted in public together due to their busy sporting league schedules, they have tagged along with each other for some romantic getaways as well as spent quality time together on dinner dates. On Tuesday night, Peña was present inside the Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, TX, to watch and cheer for the Canada Men’s National Soccer Team as they took on El Salvador in a group stage match of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The Gold Glove-winning shortstop donned his girlfriend Grosso’s jersey to showcase support for the home team. He shared a couple of snaps on Instagram Story from an exciting contest in which Canada prevailed 2-0.
The duo has been highly supportive of each other’s endeavors on and off the field. They are often spotted spectating and cheering on each other through their game days in the big leagues. In her Instagram post from May 1, Grosso shared many images from her eventful time at the Daikin Park overlooking an Astros game alongside her family members while rocking Peña’s No. 3 jersey.
The couple is seen to be enjoying their time together as they continue to make positive strides in their respective sporting fields.

The 27-year-old Dominican-American made his big league debut in 2022 and, since then, has been a mainstay in the Astros’ infield. Peña has amassed 100 hits in 307 at-bats, which include 17 doubles and one triple. He is projected to hit over 20 home runs and register more than 80 RBIs in 2025. After starting the season slowly, the Astros have picked up the pace and are now 46-33 for the campaign, sitting atop the AL West standings with a .582 winning percentage.
After winning the three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels, they have now opened one against the Philadelphia Phillies at home and have already taken the series opener 1-0 on Tuesday night.
