Anthony Tordillos has large lead in San Jose special election

(Krona) – The results of the early election night, Chairman of the Planning Committee in San Jose Anthony Tourdilus, which are presented by double numbers in the race to represent the center of San Jose, and replace the former provincial council member in the former region Omar Torres.

As of 8:45 pm on Tuesday, Tordillos got 64.8 % of the votes, or 4449 votes. Latina Alliance of Silicon Executive Director Wadi Gabi Chavez Lopez is in second place with 35.1 % of the votes, or 2,413 votes. Almost 6,901 of polling cards were filmed, according to Santa Clara province elections, who will continue to handle voting cards on Wednesday.

Tordellos, who was in the steps of early trends, said his first case when it takes place was housing.

“The housing was the first issue – this prompted me to local policy to start,” Tordellos told San Jose Spotlight: “I look forward to continuing to lead in the housing council in the city council and find ways to climb around a lack of housing and build San Jose at reasonable prices.”

Tordellos-supporters who picked up Charcuxe and Drinks passed in the press room in downtown San Jose-erupted to chants when the results on the screen look early on the Chavez Lopez.

The 7 Bien DOAN Board of Directorate arrived at the Tordellos party after the first round of the results, but he said he was not here to choose a favorite in the race.

“I am only looking to work with the Council of Council 3,” Duan told San Jose Spotlight: Claris Chaibard, a resident of the city center since 2008, said that Tordelus has emerged in his position on the Planning Committee – and because he is one of her neighbors.

“Anthony is, O Shani, because I think it will help us in the homelessness, the safety of our area, and the sponsorship of the few gardens that we have in our small area in the city center,” said Shivard’s tongue of Jose Dckers. “Picks a garbage- do everything. I think he will take the shirt from his back if you need it.”

Although Chavez Lopez delayed the voices, a continuous flow of supporters at the Corinthian Hall party is optimistic.

“I think it is really important that every vote be calculated,” said Chavez Lopez Lisan Jose Das. “With the deterioration of sounds, it will be incredibly important to make sure people hear and … their voices are calculated.”

The Santa Clara Clara Province supervisor attended the Chavez Lopez party and said that the preliminary results showed “we had fierce candidates with strong campaigns.”
“By the time we have finished, we will have a member of the council who really cares about the city center,” Duung told San Jose Spotlight:

David Cohen, a member of the Provincial Council 4, who supported Chavez Lopez, said he was surprised by the sharp margin, although the decrease in the participation rate was one of his concerns about holding special elections.
“The first round numbers are not promising,” Cohen told San Jose Spotlight. “We’ll see how it is running, but it seems that the high spending of the other side has made a difference with the voters.”
Whatever the candidate who succeeds will help in dealing with the city’s structural deficiency, which is expected to reach 52.9 million dollars in 2026-27.

The election results can raise the accurate measures of the city council. The mayor, Mahan, won the approval of the colleagues over a handful of his proposals in his title, including the arrest of the homeless for their shelter’s refusal, which he built a political file at the state level. But the majority of his council is not always consistent. His colleagues recently dropped one of his bold proposals to link the salaries of the city leaders with their performance.

Mahan initially put his support behind a chief deputy chief of staff, Matthew Kivido, in the preliminary elections on April 8. Quevedo was removed from the race after the fine margin has sparked shaving. Mahan then threw his support behind Tordellos.
Mahan arrived at the Tordellos party shortly after the first round of the results.

“If you get to know Anthony, he is a gentle and thoughtful person who asks great questions and really wants to understand the issues,” Mahan said to San Jose’s light. “I and I do not agree with every issue, but we have made hours of deep conversation in talking about data and have the right mindset.”

It was primarily funded by large companies, including PG & E, Chevron and Walmart.

Special elections are the result of an investigation into sexual assault on children in a former council member, Torres, which led to his arrest and resignation on the day of the election last November. The scandal revealed that Torres sent texts asking for sex with minors and confessed to harassment of relatives under the legal age in the 1990s. Torres appealed to “no competition” in court on April 8. The pronunciation session is scheduled to be held in August.
