Pickett and Paternoster grew up in the same town and were both active in sports, frequently running into each other while working out at the same gym since they were preteens.

Their shared passion for sports and roots in their hometown helped build a strong bond. In a modern-day love story, they reconnected at a party in their hometown during a college break.

Pickett attended the University of Pittsburgh, so the two hadn’t seen each other in a while. Distance makes the heart grow fonder, at least in this case. Once the two had reunited, things moved quickly. Pickett and Paternoster began dating in 2021.

Pickett proposed in 2022, and the couple sealed the deal in matrimony one year later. The Super Bowl LIX champion posted a carousel of his pictures with his wife with a wholesome caption on his Instagram handle.

“Happy Anniversary to my rock! I love the life we have built together, and I can’t wait to see what is in store for us. Always have, always will❤️,” he wrote.

Pickett knew what he wanted right after he started dating Paternoster, according to his interview with People:

“I knew when I first started dating Amy that I wanted to marry her. Now that the day is here, it’s really special to get to spend the rest of your life with the person that means the world to you.”

The Browns’ QB and Paternoster had a dream wedding. They married at the Pleasantdale Chateau in the Garden State and exchanged personal vows with 275 family and friends.

In true football fashion, the couple had the Steelers’ chaplain, Kent Chevalier, officiate their wedding. Paternoster’s dress was designed by creator Galia Lahav and purchased at Bridal Reflections on 5th Avenue in New York City.

The couple hired a mixologist who created specialty cocktails, a Steelers ice sculpture, and a marlin ice sculpture. Lobster was not the only thing on the menu. In honor of Amy’s background, they had sushi, an Italian station, a raw station, pasta, ribeye, and traditional Cuban dishes.

After all you could eat of dinner, guests were treated to a three-round dessert and food trucks galore for the after-party. The Picketts made sure no one went hungry.
