“I am excited to be in Espys this year,” Gillis said in a statement. “I love sports so this should be a fun time.”

Gillis is the creator and star of the Netflix “Tires” and the joint flight attendants “Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast” with his comedian Mat McCosker. He also appeared in the Super Bowl advertisement with Peyton Manning and Post Malone as well as a digital spot where Notre Dame Fighting Irish collects.

“Shin is not only one of the best comedians today, but also admires huge sports, making it an easy option to host ESPYS,” said Craig Lazaros, ESPYS Vice President and CEO of ESPYS. “We are happy to work with him to create an entertaining show that celebrates the best moments this year in sports and we feel excited to find out what he will do on the stage.”

Espys helps in collecting awareness and funds for the V Foundation for Cancer Research, the charitable organization founded by ESPN and the late basketball coach Jim Vanno at the first ESPYS in 1993.
