Browns Insider Drops Eye-Opening Report on Rookie Shedeur Sanders’ Traffic Record Following 101 MPH Citation

Shedeur Sanders has again made his way into headlines for an undesirable reason. The former Colorado Buffaloes QB became the talk of the town in April after suffering a historic slide, and this time his driving has brought the spotlight on him.

One Browns insider dug deep into Sanders’ driving history and provided a surprising insight about the son of the two-time Super Bowl champion.

Cleveland Browns Insider Reveals Shocking Traffic Background for Shedeur Sanders

Sanders was pulled over for speeding on I-71, driving his black Dodge Ram TRX near the Ohio Turnpike bridge on June 17. The quarterback was released after receiving a citation and was instructed to appear in Strongsville Mayor’s Court on July 3.

However, according to the citation, he won’t be required to attend in person if he pays the fine beforehand. Sanders was clocked at 101 mph, which is 41 mph over the speed limit for that stretch of the road.

Browns insider Alex Darus reported that it wasn’t Sanders’ first traffic violation this month. The Browns’ rookie was pulled over by the cops a couple of weeks ago.

“Sanders was pulled over by Ohio State Highway Patrol in Medina, according to Medina Municipal Court records filed on June 6,” Darus wrote.

Sanders was fined $249, including additional court costs. He was supposed to appear for the arraignment on June 16, but he failed to do so.

Police also reported that a woman driving alongside Sanders, referred to as his girlfriend, was pulled over as well for speeding at 92 mph. In the video, Sanders can be heard telling the officer that he didn’t think he was going that fast. The officer then replies, “How fast did you think you were going if you didn’t think you were 101? Because I know this truck, supercharged, will do it.”

Sanders’ truck was registered in Colorado, while his driver’s license was issued in Mississippi. The license was considered valid, and the stop ended smoothly, with the quarterback being cooperative throughout the process.

Unlike most rookies entering the NFL, Sanders already carried a celebrity status before ever stepping on an NFL field. The exposure brought by his family turned Sanders into a public figure, often perceived as arrogant. However, since the draft, he has been working on reshaping that image in the media.

The Browns selected Sanders with the No. 144 overall pick in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. That spot hardly reflects his production: 4,134 passing yards and 37 touchdowns on a 74% completion rate for Colorado in 2024.

Cleveland now has five quarterbacks on the roster: Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Sanders. With Watson still recovering from an Achilles injury, Flacco is expected to start week one, with Pickett as the backup. Gabriel and Sanders are currently battling for the third spot.
