As the Arizona Cardinals gear up for the 2025 season, all eyes are on wideout Marvin Harrison Jr., and not just for his on-field potential. The wide receiver has become a viral sensation this offseason thanks to his dramatic physical transformation. The second-year pro’s offseason transformation has turned heads around the NFL, including those in the Cardinals organization.
Arizona Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort Praises Marvin Harrison Jr.’s Offseason Transformation
Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort has high expectations for the Ohio State product, and his latest comments suggest the young star is doing everything in his power to exceed them.
According to Ossenfort, Harrison has been a fixture at the Cardinals’ training facility this offseason, working tirelessly to improve both his body and his game.
“I don’t know if there was a day this offseason that [Harrison] wasn’t in our building, training, just working, just getting better,” Ossenfort told NFL insider Ari Meirov on “NFL Spotlight.”

“It’s showing in his body, it’s showing on how he’s performed out here in the spring, and we talk about it all the time, the jump that a player makes from their rookie year to their second year,” Ossenfort added. “We’re excited for him to be able to take that next step and he’s really well on his way here the way he’s performed this spring.”
Harrison Looks to Turn Offseason Gains Into Sophomore Breakout
While Harrison’s offseason dedication has translated into a noticeable change in his physique, it’s remains to be seen how that will translate to the football field.

He had a solid rookie campaign, finishing with 62 receptions, 885 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. However, expectations were sky-high for the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and some were left disappointed with the results.
He was overshadowed by several fellow rookies who posted impressive numbers in their debut seasons. Jacksonville’s Brian Thomas Jr. finished with 87 receptions for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns. Malik Nabers of the New York Giants hauled in 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven scores. Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers tallied 112 receptions, 1,194 yards, and five touchdowns. Meanwhile, Los Angeles Chargers wideout Ladd McConkey recorded 82 catches for 1,149 yards and seven touchdowns.
Despite trailing these players in terms of production, Harrison was still a key asset for the Cardinals and showed flashes of dominance, including multiple 100-yard games. To reach his full potential, he needs to show more consistency and develop a stronger connection with quarterback Kyler Murray.
With training camp on the horizon, we will soon find out if Harrison’s offseason efforts pay off on the field. If his added strength helps him fight through defenders and secure more contested catches, he could finally live up to Ossenfort’s expectations. If not, it certainly won’t be due to a lack of effort.
