Before the world’s blood donors day on Saturday, Fox31 spoke to a former patient who challenged the difficulties and now thanks hundreds of blood donors after receiving a donation of blood record.

“I learned that your life could disappear in a moment,” said Nicholas Jackson. “I hit a bad area of ​​the road and gravel and lost control of the motorcycle that I was on.”

Jackson says the accident was a decisive moment in his life, on June 15, 2024, along the 105th Highway near Castle Rock.

“I was seen in a field – and it was necessary to find it,” Jackson said. “My injuries, man, were outside this world.”

Jackson suffered from a brain injury, two broken crumb bone, spine and neck injuries, broken hands and shock in his stomach in the accident.

“It was truly a touch and go”, who led the care team after he was transferred to the hospital’s intensive care unit, where he stayed for 48 days.

Pantone said: “The degree of intensity of the injury will put it in a serious non -rescue condition, not survived.”

Despite the dark expectations, Jackson has survived, thanks to more than 500 saving blood -saving blood donations, which amounted to 274 units of the blood.

“We had to drain our blood supply, borrow from six different hospitals, and borrow from the banks of different blood … but you can see what we did with that,” Pantone said.

Jackson donations gave a second chance in life and an opportunity to help others who need blood to save life.

“The savings of life – this is exactly what they are,” said Jackson. “I am very grateful to all concerned, who did so at all, and who contributed or donated at all- I am very grateful to each of them … because of that, I still live.”
