50 Cent stirred speculation on June 5, 2025, when he posted a photo on Instagram with his son, Sire, captioned simply, “WTF!”
The post came just as an anonymous “Jane Doe” testified in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ongoing federal case, raising questions among fans about the possible identity of the witness.
Many online users pointed to 50 Cent’s ex-girlfriend and Sire’s mother, Daphne Joy, as the possible “Jane Doe.”
During the testimony, the witness described a past relationship with someone who had a history of tension with Combs, prompting many to connect that description to the rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson.
Adding to the speculation, Joy’s name had previously appeared in a separate lawsuit against Combs that included allegations of sex work.
Back in March 2024, Jackson filed for sole custody of Sire following claims that tied Joy to a sex trafficking to that very lawsuit filed by music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones. The suit named Joy as one of the women allegedly connected to Combs.
“Given the latest developments and news of Daphne Joy’s involvement in the Diddy lawsuit, 50 is going for sole custody of his son,” a source told Us Weekly at the time.
Shortly after, 50 Cent confirmed his intent on Instagram, writing, “It is what it is. see you in Family court, sex worker!”
Joy quickly fired back, denying the allegations and criticizing 50 Cent for what she described as his limited presence in their son’s life.
“Curtis James Jackson, everything is a joke to you until our safety is compromised, which is happening now,” she wrote. “You are wreaking real havoc, frenzy, and chaos onto people’s lives. How would u feel if Sire was the one in handcuffs? For nothing.”
She also shared details about their co-parenting history. “We moved to New York to give you the opportunity to be a father to your son and you saw him 10 times out of the 2 years that we lived 1 mile away from you. I am tired of upholding and protecting an image to our son that you have never even earned.”
