Bay Area man finishes six-day, 100-mile barefoot trek for immigrant children's rights

San Francisco (Crohn)-A man in the Gulf region ended a six-day barefoot trip from Ocean Beach in San Francisco to Santa Cruz, all in an attempt to raise funds for immigrants detained at the border.

Patrick McConnell Kron4 tells that his feet overcame greatly, but he ended the journey with a lot of gratitude.

McConnell has trained for three months to prepare for this trip, with partnership with the young center for immigrant children’s rights – an organization that provides children with children to help give the voice of these children in court and unite them with their families.

“Many of these children flee violence, trafficking, and difficulties that cannot be imagined at home, then they are offset by a system that treats them like adults,” McConnell told “Sarah Stinson” from Kron4.

McConnell said he raised $ 17,000 while walking. His goal remains at 50 thousand dollars, and hopes to get more donations or match.

He said he successfully completed 100 miles by walking during the day and camping at night. He also documented some of his journey.

McConnell said that friends sometimes joined him at the beginning and end of walking, but he claims to have ended the adventure alone.
