Ariana Biermann Says Her Bond With Kroy Is Broken Amid His Nasty Split From Kim
Ariana Biermann is speaking out about where things stand with her stepfather, Kroy Biermann, amid his highly publicized split from her mother, Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak.
In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly on May 29, Ariana, 23, revealed that her once-close bond with Kroy has been deeply affected by the ongoing divorce proceedings between her mom and the former NFL star.
“Growing up, he really was my best friend — more than my mom was for a while,” Ariana shared. “We’re definitely not as close as we used to be, and I don’t really talk to him very often just because of this tough situation that we’re in.” Despite the family tension, Ariana is trying to keep the relationships separate from the legal battle.
“I really do try to keep the divorce and my relationship with him and my mom separate,” she added. “It just gets hard at times.” The reality TV daughter, who recently faced DUI sentencing earlier this month, is now stepping into the spotlight with a new Bravo series, Next Gen NYC, which follows the lives of Housewives’ children making their mark in the Big Apple.
According to Ariana, the opportunity was “really incredible” and a chance for viewers to get to know her and her castmates outside the shadows of their famous parents.
“[The show] follows us as we are living our lives in New York,” she explained. And she credits one familiar face for nudging her into the project: Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice’s daughter, Gia Giudice.
“Gia was like, ‘You’re coming to New York and you’re doing this show with me,’” Ariana recalled. “‘I need you. It’s going to be so fun and I need to know I have somebody in my corner too.’” Ariana was all in: “I was like, ‘Definitely.’ And I love any opportunities, and it was a blessing. I was super excited to just come.”
