Welfare, Gaza Strip – At least 31 people were killed and more than 150 people were injured on Sunday while they were on their way to receive food in the Gaza Strip, according to health officials. The witnesses said that the Israeli forces launched crowds around one kilometer (1000 yards) from an aid site run by an Israeli institution supported.
The army said in a brief statement that “he was not currently aware of the injuries caused by the (Israeli army) fire at the humanitarian aid distribution site. The issue is still under review.”
The Foundation – which Israel and the United States are promoting – said in a statement that it had provided “without an accident” early on Sunday. Previous accounts have denied chaos and shooting around their sites, which are located in Israeli military areas where independent access is limited.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza said 31 people were killed and 170 others were wounded.
A new aid system marred by chaos
The chaos at the Gaza Foundation Foundation was marred by chaos in the first week of its operations, and many witnesses said that the Israeli forces fired crowds near the delivery sites. Before Sunday, at least six people and more than 50 people were killed, according to local health officials.
The Foundation says that private security contractors guarding their positions did not shoot the crowds. The Israel Army recognized the warning clips on previous occasions.
The Foundation said in a statement that it had distributed 16 trucks of aid early on Sunday “without an accident”, and refused what it described as “false reports on deaths, mass injuries and chaos.”

“The scene was terrible”
Thousands of people went to the distribution site in southern Gaza hours before dawn. As they approached, the Israeli forces ordered them to differentiate and return later, as witnesses said. The witnesses said that when the crowds reached the roundabout, about 1 km (half a mile), at about 3 in the morning, the Israeli forces opened fire.
Omar Abu Tiba, who was in the crowd, said: “There was a fire from all directions, from marine warships, from tanks and drones.”
He said he saw at least 10 bodies with fiery wounds and many other wounded, including women. People used the vehicles to transfer the dead and wounded to a field hospital. “The scene was terrible,” he said.
Dr. Marwan Al -Hamz, an official at the Ministry of Health at Nasser Hospital, said that many wounded were transferred after they were transferred to the field hospital run by the Red Cross.
He said that 24 people were treated in the intensive care unit of Nasser Hospital. A colleague, surgeon Khaled Sir, later said that 150 wounded had arrived, with 28 bodies.
Ibrahim Abu Soud, another witness, said that the army opened fire from about 300 meters (yard).
Abu Soud said that he saw many people suffering from gunshot wounds, including a young man who said he died at the scene. “We could not help him,” he said.
Muhammad Abu Tima, 33, said that he saw the Israeli forces open fire and kill his cousin and a woman while they were heading towards the distribution site. He said that his cousin was shot in his chest and his son -in -law was among the wounded.
“They opened the fire very much about us directly,” he said.
AP correspondent arrived at the field hospital at about 6 am and saw dozens of wounded, including women and children. The correspondent also saw crowds of people from the distribution point. Some of the aid boxes they carry, but most of them appear to be empty -handed.
Field Hospital officials said at least 21 people were killed and 175 others were wounded, without saying who opened fire on them. Officials spoke on the condition that his identity was not disclosed because they were not allowed to speak to reporters.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza presented the same outcome and updated it later.

The United Nations says the new aid system violates humanitarian principles
Israel and the United States say that the new regime aims to prevent Hamas from getting rid of help. Israel has not provided any evidence of systematic conversion, and the United Nations denies that it had happened.
United Nations agencies and major relief groups refused to work with the new system, saying that it violates humanitarian principles because it allows Israel to control those who receive aid and force people to move to distribution sites, and risk more collective displacement in the coastal region.
“It is a basic engineering scarcity,” said Jonathan Whital, the interim president of Gaza at the United Nations Humanitarian Office, last week.
The United Nations system to provide assistance has struggled after Israel had reduced a little siege for nearly three months in the region last month. These groups say that the Israeli restrictions, the collapse of the law, order and looting on a large scale makes it very difficult to provide assistance to nearly two million Palestinians in Gaza.
Experts have warned that the region is at risk of starvation if more aid is not provided.
The war began when the militants led by Hamas in southern Israel stormed on October 7, 2023, killing about 1,200 people, most of them civilians, and kidnapped 251. They still carry 58 hostages, about a third of believed to be alive, after most of the rest were released in stopping agreements or other deals.
The military campaign of Israel has killed more than 54,000 people, most of them women and children, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, which does not specify the number of civilians or fighters. The attack destroyed vast areas, explained about 90 % of the population and left people almost completely dependent on international aid.
The latest efforts in the ceasefire talks seemed to be stuck on Saturday when Hamas said it had requested amendments to the US proposal that Israel agreed, and the American envoy described this “unacceptable.”
Also on Sunday, Israel said that its forces had killed a militant dungeon commander saying it was behind an attack that killed 21 soldiers in the first months of the war. Among the most fatal events of the army was nearly 20 months of fighting, with the exception of the enthusiasm of the enthusiasm. An explosion from a hand grenade called the missiles fired by the explosives that the soldiers were putting to the explosion of the buildings.
