Former Los Angeles Dodgers ace Trevor Bauer currently plays professional baseball with the Yokohama DeNa BayStars in the NPB. He last pitched in the big leagues in June 2021 and was subsequently dropped down the pecking order after a legal investigation opened up, which looked into alleged charges against him.
Bauer was released by the Dodgers in 2023, and soon, with no suitors in the MLB, he shifted focus to Japan and signed a one-year contract with the BayStars. After spending a year in Japan, he jetted off to Mexico and signed with the Red Devils of Mexico for the 2024 season.
After winning the LMB championship and pitcher of the year award last year, he again looked towards Japan for a new challenge and ended up resigning with the BayStars to commence his second stint with the NPB ballclub for the 2025 season.
Trevor Bauer’s Agent Rachel Luba Celebrates His Latest Outing
Bauer’s agent, Rachel Luba, has been a significant figure in his life. She helped the former MLB ace to restart his professional baseball career elsewhere after the MLB ballclubs refused to entertain any discussions regarding his signature.
Luba shared a couple of posts on her Instagram story to celebrate Bauer’s dominant outing against the Hanshin Tigers on Tuesday. She captioned one of those images with his impressive pitching line from gameday, which read “8 IP, 0 R, 12 Ks, and 118 P for @baueroutage.”
In 2023, Luba had offered Bauer’s talents to the NPB, helping him secure a deal with the BayStars. In Mexico, she negotiated his contract with the Diablos Rojos del Mexico and then again with the BayStars for the 2025 season.
After Struggling in His Second Stint in the NPB, Trevor Bauer Finally Produces a Quality Outing
Through nine starts this season in the NPB, Bauer is currently 2-3 with an ERA of 3.43 and 62 strikeouts in 63 innings pitched. His best start yet came in the series opener between the BayStars and the Tigers at Muscat Stadium in Kurashiki, Okayama, on Tuesday night.
The searing strike thrower pitched eight scoreless innings with a total of 118 pitches and struck out a whopping 12 batters in the game. Despite his heroic outing, the BayStars’ hitting lineup failed to even get a single run on the scorecard and ultimately lost the series opener 1-0 in extra innings.

Bauer’s next start is expected to come against the Tokyo Yakult Swallows at home in Yokohama Stadium over the weekend. The 2020 Cy Young Award-winning pitcher with the Cincinnati Reds will be aiming to impress the scouts with the remaining starts in the Japanese league this season, with positive hopes of returning to the big leagues sometime soon.
