While Bill Belichick was known for staying out of the public eye during his time in New England, that has not been the case in his first few months with the Tar Heels.
The three-time NFL Coach of the Year has garnered plenty of attention due to his relationship with Jordon Hudson, who is nearly 50 years younger than him. That attention only grew over Memorial Day weekend as Hudson fueled rumors that their relationship may be moving to the next level.

Jordon Hudson Sparks Bill Belichick Engagement Rumors
Belichick turned 73 in April—just one month after Hudson turned 24. TMZ Sports captured photos of Hudson at the Raleigh-Durham Airport on Saturday as she waited for her flight back to Boston. What got everyone talking was the jewelry she was wearing on her ring finger.
The legendary head coach had already sparked speculation earlier when he renamed his boat the “I + VIII Rings.” Belichick has famously won eight Super Bowl titles—six as head coach of the Patriots and two as defensive coordinator of the New York Giants.
Belichick was previously married to Debby Clarke Belichick, whom he wed in 1977. They had three children together before divorcing in 2006. Afterward, Belichick began dating Linda Holliday, who served as the executive director of the Bill Belichick Foundation. Their relationship lasted until 2023 before they called it quits.
Reports suggest Belichick’s relationship with Hudson began in 2021, the same year he and Holliday split. The pair reportedly met on a flight, and they have been together ever since. Hudson’s latest public appearance, complete with the noticeable ring, has fans and media wondering if Belichick is preparing to get married for a second time.
While there’s been no official confirmation from either party, the speculation continues to swirl. For now, Belichick’s focus will be on his new role leading the Tar Heels. But if Hudson’s ring is any indication, there may be more than just a new coaching challenge ahead for the future Hall of Famer.
Who is Bill Belichick?
Belichick is widely considered to be the greatest coach in NFL history. His six Super Bowl victories are two more than Chuck Noll, who ranks second, while his nine appearances are three more than Don Shula and Andy Reid, who are tied for second.
The long-time New England Patriots head coach’s 302 regular-season wins trail only Shula and George Halas, while his 31 postseason victories are the most all-time.
Belichick did not coach in 2024 after he and the Patriots mutually agreed to part ways following the previous season, marking his first year away from the sidelines since finishing his college playing career in 1974.
But he’s not staying away from football for long. Belichick is set to make his college coaching debut in 2025 after agreeing to become the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels.
