Dozens of Oakland's homeless citizens housed following major sweep, city says

(Crohn) – Auckland has made three major surveying operations in the homeless camps. First on Martin Luther King Jr. Way, then in Mosswood Park, and recently along East 12th Street.

Displacement defenders say about 190 people live in the camp on the twelfth street. Harold Duffy, the city’s prosecutor’s official, said that in less than a week, many citizens of the twelfth street camp now have a roof above their heads.

“We had 70 individuals who were placed last week, on East 12th Street.”

Many of these homeless citizens were sheltered in Mandela House, while six others were registered in the medical rest sponsorship program.

On Monday, the defenders of the homeless, such as Needa Bee, the village’s executive director of Auckland, told Kron4 that there was not enough notice about the survey process and that it was not offered to everyone.

“They were supposed to spend three weeks [doing] This is because they are not ready to confront all these people.

Dofi did not agree to the village in Auckland, saying that the awareness teams from the city were in the camp six months before the survey.

“We have actually went out and intervened before the crews have already appeared,” Dove said.

Oakland removed 423 tons of garbage and withdrew more than 33 deserted cars from the twelfth street camp. Dofi said that the work that is done is not only related to the purification of the lands of tents and vehicles, but rather to find permanent housing solutions for those who need them more.

He said: “Make people in temporary housing for a year, and while they are there, they will get advice, and they will prepare their paper work to prepare to qualify for any qualified services as a path to housing in the long run.”

The three surveying operations were performed in Auckland using a $ 7.2 million government grant.
