12 injured when tree falls at Diablo Valley College graduation ceremony

(Krona) – Diablo Valley College says that a tree fell at a football stadium during the start of the graduation ceremony in Blazant Hill on Friday evening, which resulted in the injury of 12 of the attendees.

The school says that the accident occurred at 6:54 pm at the end of the ceremony.

A tree fell near the 321 RD Club RD football field. According to the Contra Costa Fire Protection, whose crews responded to the scene.

Two injured individuals have been transferred to nearby hospitals and their conditions have not been launched yet.

Diablo Valley College said that the respondents in emergency and police services were already on the site in the events of the school events and managed to respond quickly to the victims.

Removing trees began after responding to the emergency. DVC officials have confirmed that the investigation will start in the next few days.

It is not immediately clear the size of the tree or what caused it to fall.

“The safety of our students and visitors on the campus is our top priority,” DVC said in a statement to Kron4. “We are deeply regretted because this incident occurred during this occasion the teacher. We congratulate all our graduates and we hope that they can celebrate their loved ones this evening.”
