Two women were arrested for theft of goods, which are worth more than $ 20,000 from Orange County stores.
On May 22, Costa Missa police responded to reports of theft in the LululeMon store at South Coast Plaza Mall in Costa Missa shortly before 8 pm
Four of the suspects were seen fleeing the mall – two of the area fled on foot while the other two left in a smuggled car.
The car was subsequently traced by the officers, but the suspects refused to withdraw, which led the police in chasing across surface streets before entering the 55th Highway.
With the help of a Huntington Beach helicopter and California highway officers, women were eventually pulled on the highway and were detained.
The suspects have been identified as Latasha Mary Brown, 36, from Clinton, Iowa, and Laburche Hulway, 37, from Chicago, Illinois, police told the Los Angeles Times.
When the police searched the car of the suspects, they discovered many garbage bags full of clothes and goods that were stolen from LululeMon and other similar retail stores.
Both women are detained on suspicion of theft, running away from the police and conspiring to commit a crime. Female suspects who fled on foot.
Investigators believe that the four women are working to target other retail sites as part of the organized retail theft ring.
“We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners and a retail retail squad in California Highway for retail to treat this type of organized retail theft,” said Costa Missa police. “We thank Hbd and Chp for help and teamwork.”
